Free Burma
4 October 2007
The dark clouds that loom over you,
nowhere could the moon be found,
And the stale, cold Autumn air,
Stagnant in the silent night.
Relighting the candles anew,
Lift the stares, not just to the ground,
As there is more hope to bear,
The world, they do, they hear your plight.
Determination – let it brew,
Quiet defiance, do not make a sound,
Be proud and hold your values dear,
When the moment is right, we’d fight!
Freedom to dance by the bayou,
Never will your hands again be bound,
Nor will danger be lurking near,
Democracy will be your might.
Free Burma blogger event urges all bloggers to stand in solidarity today, and highlight the urgency in protecting the welfare of Burmese people and monks who have been sorely mistreated and tortured in the past fortnight. This cannot, and must not, continue so.
I pray for no more harm to come upon those who are fighting for their rights. I pray for lives lost in this protest against senseless military rules. I pray for an awakening to a brighter future.
